The Vantage has been Aston Martin's entry sports car for two decades, across very different generations. With older cars, transmission and engine decide most of the value. With the current Vantage, buyers focus on mileage, options and warranty.
This page is specific to the Vantage. For other models and the full comparison of ways to sell, see the main Aston Martin guide.

Which Vantage do you have?
V8 Vantage

V12 Vantage and V12 Vantage S
2011–2017The V12 in the compact Vantage body. The original V12 Vantage was manual-only. The V12 Vantage S used Sportshift III, and a seven-speed manual was added for its final years. These are collectible.
Vantage (2018–2023)
2018–2023An all-new car with a twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG, an eight-speed automatic and, from 2020, an optional seven-speed manual. The 2022 V12 Vantage was limited to 333 cars.

What Vantage buyers check first
- TransmissionManual cars carry premiums in every generation. On Sportshift cars, a clutch-wear report helps, because a clutch replacement is expensive.
- Engine and editionV8 or V12, S, AMR and limited editions. Make sure every offer is for your exact car.
- Service historyAston Martin dealer or specialist records. On older cars, regular servicing matters more than low mileage.
- OptionsCarbon packs, upgraded audio, sports seats, special paint and Q by Aston Martin details. Keep the build sheet.
- WarrantyRemaining factory or Timeless pre-owned coverage adds value on newer cars.
Where to sell a Vantage
Manual cars and V12 Vantages
Online enthusiast auctions or a specialist in collectible sports cars. These attract competitive bidding.
Recent Vantages
An Aston Martin dealer buying for its Timeless program, or a specialist exotic buyer.
Older Sportshift cars
A specialist buyer or a private sale through owners' clubs. A recent clutch report and full records help most.
Every route, compared side by side, is in the Aston Martin guide. Still paying off a loan or lease? See selling an Aston Martin with a loan or lease.

Common questions
Is a manual Vantage worth more?
Usually, yes, in every generation. Manual V8 and V12 Vantages in particular sell for clear premiums because relatively few were built.
What is Sportshift?
Aston Martin's automated manual gearbox, used on many V8 and V12 Vantages. It uses a single clutch, so buyers ask about clutch wear.
Is the V12 Vantage a collectible?
The V12 Vantage, V12 Vantage S and the limited 2022 V12 Vantage are widely treated as collectibles, especially manual cars.
Will an Aston Martin dealer buy an older Vantage?
Possibly, but dealers focus on recent cars for their Timeless program. Specialists and enthusiast auctions are often stronger for older cars.
